Waterdown sits on top of the escarpment above Aldershot, a village core with mature lots surrounded by a decade of new subdivisions, and it gets more snow and wind than the lakeshore below.
The new streets east of Highway 6 and north of Dundas are typical Halton and Hamilton new builds: narrow lots, tight gates, unfinished basements and young families. The J-335 and the Nordic Retreat SE are the tubs that fit the yard, and the Clearlight Sanctuary 2 is the basement sauna that fits the budget. Because Waterdown is on the escarpment plateau, expect more snow on the cover than a Burlington neighbour gets and plan the pad so cleared snow has somewhere to go that is not the cabinet.
The older village core along Mill Street and Dundas has larger lots, older wiring and sometimes a detached garage blocking the side yard, so a crane lift is more common than in the subdivisions. Beyond the village, Flamborough properties toward Carlisle run on wells and septic and have room for a Serenity Sauna with a wood-burning heater. Waterdown is part of the City of Hamilton, so its permit and setback rules are Hamilton's, not Burlington's; check with them before you pour anything.
